Question:

What is a good tennis racket for me?

I am getting back into tennis after a layoff of a few years. I'm not great but I'm by no means a beginner. I don't want anything too expensive, but I don't want a 20 dollar Wal-Mart racket either. Any suggestions? Thanks

  1. I agree with brett, the TT scream is a great find for the money. Depending on your skill level though, the racquet is a bit on the light weight side. The balance is also even if not slightly head heavy when strung.

If you want something you can grow into a bit more, try the Prince NXT in a mid or midplus. Nice weight to it, headlight and great touch on the racquet.

The Prince TT Warrior is also a great great racquet. I used the predecessor (precision response) to win many tournaments in high school.

You can probably also find wilcon ncode tour 95. Great feel, slightly head heavy though but not by much.

Head also has many LM4 and probably entry level flexpoints for sale as well.

All these racquets should run you around 50-70 bucks.

Generally speaking you should probably lean toward a midplus racquet with an even balance thats not too light (10.8-11.8 oz). You don't need an oversize or head heavy racquet, bc i'm sure you'll find your groove soon enough.

  2. I would suggest this Babolat racquet:

    Or this Wilson:

*i do not suggest K-factors. They are ok racquets, but the older ncodes in my opinion are better.

    Hope this helps!

  3. i don't know your price range but maybe you should consider the Head Microgel- I believe it's priced about $150 or so- i demod it and it worked well but in the end i chose the prince speedport black- which is more expensive. good luck finding one- and if you can, find a local tennis store and see if you can demo some of the rackets so you can find one that fits you best.

  4. you should go to a tennis store that  allow u to demo their rackets..borrow 2 or 3 different brands :Wilson ,Prince, Head. different head sizes..You can also ask a pro at the store to recommend u according to your playing style.  Demo as many as u want until u find the one u like.

  5. Well, if you want to go pretty cheap, and get a good racket go with the nTour, it's about 80 bucks.  It is a good racket.

  6. Head Liquid Metal Series $69.99 - $99.99 (Radical Os) http://www.doittennis.com/rackets/head/l...

    Prince triple threat  $60.00

Those are the best rackets I can think for the price you might want to try the Head Flex point Series great rackets for good prices. (I own the 2 liquid metals and a flexpoint instinct there great!)
