What is a good theme for an 18th birthday party?

I am throwing a surprise birthday party for my sister...she will be turning 18. and rather than have the house look plain i was thinking that maybe i should have a themed party..so please tell me your ideas.thanks in advance

I don't know if she would be into this but I am planning an Alice in Wonderland themed party for me this summer. It can be fun to decorate with all the crazy things flamingos, brightly colored lanters, clocks, rabits, have a table with tea cups, hand up different sized cards, have mushrooms and random cheese pieces, signs that say this way, wrong way, that way have the guessed wear mad hats and ties or white bunny ears Also have red and white roses. If you do decide to have this theme and want more ideas let me know.
