What is a good theme to decorate a college-dorm-floor for girls?

So I'm an RA (Resident Assistant) for my college dorm floor this year and I have to decorate our floor and lounge. Last year I helped create a disney princess theme (corny but awesome at the same time because we all grew up with disney) which worked out pretty well but I'm trying to think of other ideas. Any takers with unique ideas and how to go about decorating?

our RA just did door decorations, so i'm not sure how much more then that you are doing, but we had a little clothes line on each door, probably 10 inches of jute or twine string, then she got tiny little clothes pins and cut out shirts and pants (from scrap-book-like paper) and put our names on each of them

we also had bumble bees, trees with leaves and our names on each leaf for fall, snowmen with our names on each ball of the man.

if your looking for a theme for the whole year, you could always do flowers, or pick one specific movie  - like turtles or cinderella and do the whole theme around that one movie.

I'm working on my door decs for my hall now... I am doing butterflys, with two layers of wings, and on the inside layer of wings, I wrote: Favorite music, favorite activities, major, hometown. Seperatly, and left room for residents to fill in the blanks.  Basically, there is then a flap (wings) over this information so it just looks like a butterfly.  If you want a pic, send me a message, and I will send you some.  For my theme I am thinking about a jungle theme, putting monkeys, trees, and such on the walls.  Last semester, I did an under the sea theme, with the rainbow fish as my front door (remember the book? most of my residents did) It was really easy even for me, and I'm a terrible artist!  Other themes in my building for the girls halls were greese, the beetles, shoes, and a brother/sister hall one, "boys are from mars" (with the hall across the way saying "girls are from Venus").  My building last fall did 90s theme... esepecially focusing on TV shows (fresh prince...).  Another idea I have heard some people wanting to use this year is somethign relating to the olympics/ china, or you could even just do a global theme, relating it to the olympics (so have something from a ton of different countries).  

Well, I hope that some of these ideas may help you out, if even just give you some where to start...  

As far as decorating, are you still at home, and do you have little siblings?  I had my little sister help me cut out butterflys since I had to cut 50!

Actually, another idea I saw online.  You could do a superhero theme, and then for your first bulliten board, do "a superhero's guide to college" and give tips for survival.

I am athinking glam fabolous. You should make the room feel like you all are the elite and famous. I would use the color scheme pink, black, white with diamonds (or rinestones). After a hard day at school or having some personal problems, you could escape into a room where you feel like royalaty. Good luck. I hope this helps.
