What is a good thing to bring to a potluck?

keep in mind that I am not a middle-aged woman going to a potluck...i can't cook...i'm a college student and this is also going to be a drinking/cocktail party. so what is something appropriate to bring?

  1. bbq chicken - tht or pizza on garlic bread, but id go for the bbq!


  2. Greek Pasta Salad

    INGREDIENTS:

    8 ounces rotini pasta

    1/2 cup olive oil

    1/2 cup red wine vinegar

    1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder

    1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil

    leaves

    1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano



    3 cups sliced mushrooms

    15 halved cherry tomatoes

    3/4 cup crumbled feta cheese

    1/2 cup chopped green onions

    1 (4 ounce) can chopped black

    olives

    DIRECTIONS:

    1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add rotini pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.

    2. Mix together cooked pasta, olive oil, vinegar, garlic powder, basil, oregano, mushrooms, tomatoes, Feta cheese, green onions and olives. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours, serve cold.

  3. The deli section at your grocery store should carry freshly made HOT WINGS in buckets, and just bring a jar of the refrigerated Ranch dressing to go with them (and some carrot/celery sticks too, if you want.  You can get them already cut up too)

  4. bring the appetizer. hummus and crackers.  or chips & dip.  Or just buy a big gallon of ice cream for dessert.

  5. Just go to your local super market and buy something from the prepared foods section.

    Such as:

    -Chips and dip

    -Veggies and dip

    -Fruit tray

    -Meat and cheese tray

    -Salad

  6. First things first, bring your own liquor.  If you don't know what food to bring, go to the store and pick up a veggie plate or a cheese cake or something like that.

  7. bring some dog turds on hot dog buns, thats good at any pot luck

    I always take something that I would LOVE !!!!

    -mozzerella sticks

    -egg rolls

    -mini pizzas

    -mini tacos

    -shrimp

    -or even aveggie platter

  11. I ALWAYS bring this dish to a potluck and everybody loves it. It's cheap and very easy to make.

    Hashbrown Casserole

    1 bag frozen hashbrowns

    1 can cream of broccoli/cheese soup

    1 small onion chopped

    1 small tub sour cream (250 ml)

    1 cup grated cheddar cheese

    Mix that all together and put in a 9" baking dish

    Crush up some corn flakes real good and sprinkle on top until completely covered. Melt about 1/2 cup butter and pour over top of cornflakes.

    Bake for about 40 minutes on 375 degrees. I promise they'll love it!

    There is a really easy crowd pleaser called the Pepperoni pizza twist. Super easy and every one likes it. Search through their recipes, I'm sure you'll find something.

  13. Buy some Moussakah in Greektown.  It's great.

  14. I normally bring a brittle of wine, cheese tray, salad, ask the host or hostess what you should bring to be on the safe side

  15. 7 layer dip! Very easy and good.

    Layer with refried beans, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, cheese, onions, and olives. Do any combo of the above. Serve  with chips!
