  1. well since he's 5 yrs old staying up a little later is ok but, just take note that when school yr is nearing it will be time to get him back to the school schedule. So to avoid conflict about his late night have him in bed around 9:30pm to 10:00pm ....and that way when school lets back in he wont be throwing you a big old hisy fit on going to bed!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I would say go 9 and then if you see he is still wide awake try 915! don't want to make it too late for him! But i comepetely understand as we had to make an adjustment because of that last week also! Good Luck!

  3. My children are ages 3, 5, and 6.    I put them all in the bed around 9:00 or 9:30.

  4. My kids are 3 & 7.  They're normal bedtime is 8pm.  But we have the same problem you do, it is still light out.  So on the nights that we don't have to be up early in the morning I let them stay up to 9 or 9:30 depending on how much sanity I have left.  When we have plans for something early in the morning, I still try for 8 or 8:30.  I think as long as they are getting enough rest at night it is ok to push bedtime back to sundown.

  5. 9 or 915, it gives him an extra 30-45mins and its dark by then but not real late.

  6. Extend it by an hour to 9:30pm. We do the same thing with our 4 yr. old. It's hard for kids to understand daylight savings time! By the time they change the clocks back, it will be getting dark again around 7:30-8pm and you can go back to the original 8:30 bedtime.

Also, don't be afraid to run those little legs ragged during the day!! Let them run & play and get rambunctious...it will wear them out more and they will sleep better and longer!

  7. I would say 9. 915 at the latest.
