  1. I home schooled for a few years. I generally woke up around ten, and did my work or went to my classes. It's a very laid back schedule. you don't really have to worry about a time to wake up, unless you have an appointment or a class that you need to get to by a certain time.

  2. It will depend entirely on how you plan to manage your time. When I was in nineth grade I was involved in lots of activities, clubs, music lessons, and fencing, so I wanted to have my schoolwork done fairly early in the day so I'd have time for everything else I wanted to do. I got up at around nine. In tenth grade I stayed up a lot later at night because it was quieter and easier for me to concentrate as we had a lot of family issues, company over, relatives visiting, etc durring that year. I'd get up kind of late like around eleven or sometimes noon or so in the morning and be social durring the day and do most of my school work in the evenings after dinner. In eleventh grade it differed from day to day. On wednesdays for example I was volunteering at the senior center in the mornings, so I got up earlier than usual, say around eight, did some school work, volunteered, participated in any activities I had that afternoon, then did what ever school work still needed doing at night. On thursdays I had fencing in the evenings and poetry club before that, so I had to do all my schooling in the earlier parts of the day. I got up around nine. On tuesdays I could sleep in until ten as long as I still got at least my math and English done before twelve when I left for my mobility lesson, braille lesson, and transition group meeting in the afternoon. I'd usually get back around five or so and would finish the day's work after dinner. I got really good at time management because I was trusted to keep my own schedule and stay on top of it, but still recieving guidance and suggestions f, rom mom. This year I'm taking nine credit hours worth of classes at a local college while still doing Pre Calculus, Economics, and French at home, and I'll be traveling to and from the college independently via public transportation, so I'll need to get up a bit earlier than usual, say eight or so, so that I can eat breakfast, get ready, do a little French, go to the college, and then save math and econ for evenings. This year thursday is going to be my off day when I have no college classes and wont do any math, french, or economics lessons at home, so all I have to worry about is homework and just catching up on life, and I still of course have the weekends.

So it really will all depend on you, your time management strategies, and what exactly you have to do in a day.

  3. This is probably a question you should ask your parents.  You might think getting up a ten is ok, but they want you up at 8, so maybe you compromise getting up at 9.  I am a morning person.  I like to get all my stuff done as early in the day as possible so I have the afternoon and evening free to do what I want.  I usually would get up around 6 when I was in high school.  Before high school we had to be up by 7 and ready for school by 8.  But it varies from family to family.  I suggest seeing how long your school work takes for a week or two, then decide what your family expects by talking to them, and figure out when you want to do your school work (morning, afternoon, evening).  You should be able to figure out the perfect time for you to wake up!

  4. My kids both get up fairly early to get started but it's really up to you. You will figure out when the best time for you is. I know some homeschoolers that do all their work at night because they are night- owls.

    Best of Luck!

  5. It depends on how you do homeschooling.

Some people follow a very specific schedule and others are much more laid back.

    The choice is yours.

    All the best.
