I hired a moving company to pick up one item and drive it 7 miles to my home. They charged me $180.

The treadmill that they will be moving weights 400 pounds and there will be four guys to pick it up. What's a good tip for all of them?

  1. You are paying $180? I would say $5 apiece, or about 10%, if they do a good job. Maybe throw in a 4-pack of nice imported beer. It is not a long or particularly difficult job, and any tip will be appreciated.

I just did a major volunteer job for a very wealthy man that involved moving and movers and caterers, and while I was not expecting pay, (it was for a charity event) I was embarassed thet he did not tip the movers, who were sweating in the hot sun and worked very hard. Bless you.
