when you go to a restaurant, how much do you usually tip? i know its supposed to be 15%, but thats really not a lot. i heard that the more your bill is, the more you have to tip.

on a $30 check, how much would you tip? on a $100 check, how much would ou tip? assuming service is good. sometimes people dont tip good because they blame the waiter/waitress on things that they dont have control over(like how long the food takes to make) what do you think is a good tip?

    15

on a $100 check, how much would ou tip?

    20or25...

  3. Waiting tables while in college was something I'll never regret doing since it opened my eyes to how to tip other servers.  There's no maximum limit if the service is excellent.  If, at a restaurant, the server does his/her job and makes you feel special and anticipates your needs, then a special tip is required.  A 20% tip for someone going above and beyond to help is just the starting point.  I've slipped servers additional cash when someone else at the table has paid and not left a sufficient tip.  I'm sure that comes from my own personal experience and the crappy feeling of giving good service and not being tipped accordingly.  For two people and a $30 check, with great service, a $7-$10 is very nice.  For two people and a $100 tab, with great service, at least $25-$30.  Poor service is another story, but if you frequent a restaurant or bar, good tipping will get you the best treatment every time.

  4. at least 15 percent. more if she's cute

  5. 20% is a good tip

  6. A good tip is AT LEAST 20%. Servers do not make minimum wage, and if they get lousy tips, they make even less. The restaurant where I work pays us $4.60 an hour, but different states have other amounts.

Pay the workers minimum wage instead of tips! ^ Read the law the jerks put into effect.

  8. 555,762,905,873,341,582,956.00 $

  9. 20% is probably a good average for good service so $6 on a $30 bill and $20 on the $100 bill.

You don't need to increase the percentage as the bill goes up.

  10. As a server, maybe try tipping 20 to 30 percent.  Also, it will depend on the type of restaurant and how many people are in your group.  Do what seems right.  Remember, most servers only make $2.13/hr.  We depend on our tips to survive.
