I wasn't sure which perspective you wanted to take so I branched out my idea in case it helps.

How mass media influences....

identity (intrapersonal),

the development of family in today's world (interpersonal),

social attitudes (social),

the role it plays in schools/the workplace/government (organizational)

Unless you are assigned a topic, you must have been given some area or subject to write on.  Surely there is something that interests you and then your research would be fun.  I must say that I learned more from my research for term papers than from the class lectures or books.  Most of them have stuck with me to this day, while classes have gone down the memory flusher.  Good luck.  :=)
