What is a good topping for a charra tostada?

I'm thinking appetizers: chicken and avocado sauteed in a little tequila lime sauce with onion? A bit of monterey jack cheese on top with some lettuce?

A good topping for charra tostada is smoked or sauteed mushrooms. I had it as an appetizer for the superbowl last year, and everyone loved it!

Yum... your idea sounds really good. The only thing I would do different is just  saute the chicken and onion in the tequila lime sauce (not the avacado).  Then either top with the avacado slices (sprinkled with a little lime  juice so it won't turn brown) or as a guacamole.  Perhaps some cilantro mixed in with the lettuce and dab if sour cream?

I would say some refried beans, some shredded meat, lettuce,onions and tomatoes,and some guacamole.Finish with fresh salsa. I also like chorizo and refried beans, some sour cream, some spanish rice, and top with Salsa. Oh there's so many choices and your's sounds well too.
