Question:

What is a good tree to plant in front of a red brick house?

We moved into a house that is red brick with white garage/trim. They planted a small Japanese Maple in front which looks terrible because of the clash of the deep red leaves and the red brick.

I was thinking of replacing it with something that won't grow too large but that had green and white as the primary colours. Any suggestions?

  1. try planting a tree tht gives perfect contrast to the bricks... for red bricks deeep green will go very well... an oak tree wud look gud

  2. whatever you buy don't plant too near your house as the roots can damage the foundations.

  3. Mock orange bushes have white flowers and come in three different sizes with a wonderful scent to them. Also, a white flocks would be nice. I have a red house and have both of these plants out front.

  4. I would suggest variagated holly- you can topiary it into a stunning shape as it grows

  5. dogwood, silverbell, snowbell

  6. Match the red house with an apple tree.
