  1. yes i would say beta. they ar beautiful and cheap and easy to care for. with theright food, the get really pretty colourful fins... my son had one and loved it! even wal mart has them and everything they will need.

  2. Guppies, just to be different. Betta's a really quite solitary animals and guppies can be just as colourful, breed way easier and are smaller. Plus you can put more than 1 male guppy with another male guppy. Guppies are also much nicer in a community tank.

  3. beta's are awesome!  i had some for  almost 2 years and the maintance is low..  wash the bowl and feed regularly..    also Black  Moores are pretty cool  but there not that colorful... jsut black

  4. betta fish (tropical)

paradise fish (can live in cold water i think but can also live in warm water but i dont know much about them)

  5. A betta might not be lively enough for you... try a small tank with some fancy guppies.

I don't recommend leaving it in a toddler's room if he can get to it.  You'd be surprised at the things kids drop into fish tanks!  And keep the food out of his reach, or he may get too enthusiastic and overfeed them.

  6. Betas are nice - pretty easy to take care of.

  7. bettas. males are BEAUTIFUL nd come in many colors

  8. Betta fish. They only eat a few pellets of betta food a day, they live alone and do not need a big bowl. Also, I am assuming you know that a 2 year old cannot possibly be responsible for any pet, not even a fish..?? As long as an adult is the primary caregiver for the fish, it is fine to live in the kid's room and "belong" to him/her. But I'm sure you know if you have a 2 year old, there is no way that they are going to remember to feed it and care for it.

  9. Beta's would be my first choice,

The care and maintenance for these fish are:

    Items needed:

-Tank(usually you can get a beta kit or just a small plastic tank will do, see the link.)http://www.petsmart.com/graphics/product...

-A plant( if not in a beta kit)

-Aquarium Gravel ( if not in beta kit)

    - A light is optional but looks nice

    - And pellets/ flake food ( i would recommend pellets)

    Care:

-Feed 3 pellets or a bit of flake food twice a day,

-Clean the tank around every 2 weeks

            > Removing around half the water and replacing the water with clean water that has been treated with tap water conditioner(that can be bought at your local pet store)

    - And watch your kid enjoy the fish :)

    OR

I would also recommend guppies if you want to set up around a 5-10 gallon tank, They are very vibrant and beautiful in colour.

They are a tropical fish and do require a heater and a filter(the beta does not require a filter or heater)

    Item needed:

    -5-10 gallon tank

    -aquarium gravel

-A gravel vac is optional but its convenient to clean the tank with

    -Tap water conditioner

-Cycle ( its a chemical that you add to your tank after a water change to relieve stress on your fish)

    - Filter

    -Heater

    -Plants

    - Filter replacements

    -Flake food

-Thermometer ( heat in the tank should be around 24-28 degrees

    Care:

    - Feed the guppies twice a day

    - Do 20% water changes every week(keep the fish in the tank while cleaning)

-Replace the filter components every month

For a 5 gallon tank i would reccomend only 2 or three guppies

For a 10 gallon tank i would reccomend 5-7 guppies

Hope This Helps!( If you are not looking to spend much money i think a beta would be the best to go with)

  10. Bettas are always easy and pretty, if you want a tank though get a small 5 gallon and get a few colourful female bettas... they come in blue, green, red and brown....

  11. If your tank is at least 10 litres and you have a heater and a filter you could get a few of guppies. I love mine, they are very colourful and they multiply!!! If you only want one then bettas  are a great choice!

Whatever your choice make sure you do lots of research, especially on the nitrogen cycle.  Learn the basics of aquarium care and save yourself A LOT of frustration and fish deaths. Make sure you cycle your tank.

  12. Bettas are great fish, they are colorful, beautiful, and VERY smart. You are mostly going to end up very attached to your betta. People make mistakes and can not care for them properly. To care for a betta you should have a tank NOT A BOWL. Bowls are definitely BAD for many fish! To start off you should get a 1.5-5 gallon tank. (The more room the better) some rocks, plants, and even a fish house (depending on the space) feeding them blood worms defiantly makes them happy. Make sure to buy a water conditioner, and always make sure that your betta has a wide top, so he can breathe. And dont let your 2 year old kill him =[

there very colorful so hopefully that'll be enough to fasinate a 2 year old. Of course make sure an adult or a responsible person is taking care of them.Hope this helps! Good Luck! && keep your betta happy there all around GREAT fish!
