  1. I started with bettas. They are really easy. you just have to  feed them 3 pellets of food  twice each day.

  2. South American cichlids are really good, but they can make your water fairly dirty, so you must keep up with cleaning.

  3. a betta.

they are very low maintenance and but remember to keep one male to a tank/ large bowl.

try not to keep them in small containers.

  4. try to get a tank bigger than 5 gallons. NOTHING SMALLER. guppies are pretty and easy maintance. Go with the penguin series filters. Tetra food brand. and you may want to breed the guppies. Remember the guideline of 1 inch of fish per gallon.

  5. a good start would b say a couple of male guppies try out the tetras my favourite is the neon and 1 male betta look them up on line. although it all depends on the size of ur tank but seriously look up how 2set up ur tank first this is very important

  6. I would say a betta because they are small and easy to take care of but you can not put 2 males together or else they will fight each other to death.  But that's only with the males. They're fresh water fish and only need a small tank.

  7. not goldfish

    for tropical:

    guppies

    platties

    bettas

    tetras

    danios

    for coldwater

    white cloud mountain minnows

    coldwater zebra danios

  8. Start with freshwater tank. I started with guppies and mollys, They are very easy to take of and they don't dirty and cloud the water real easy like goldfishes.  Also I have two mollys and I guess its aboy and girl, my girl molly gave birth to seven baby fishes not too long ago!!!

  9. I started out with Goldfish and I liked it so much I didn't give up on it. And I have a Blackmoor that has been living in my tank for 1 year and 2 months. But if you don't like Goldfish , yu can try southern platys , bettas , fighting fish , Gourami and much more...

  10. It depends on what you are looking for. If you want a simple fish with a small take, you might consider getting yourself a Beta Fish (aka Siamese Fighting Fish). The males are the most commonly owned. They have long, flowing tails and come in many bright colors and styles (Crown-tail, Half-moon, Standard, etc.) They make wonderful fish for first time owners, because they do not require a filter (though I suggest one, it'll help keep the tank clean), they are beautiful in color and shape, they can live for up to seven years, and they can live happily in smaller tanks.

If a Beta is your choice, I would suggest a 2.5 gallon tank, with a filter and a small light (you can get a kit for cheap). If you can't find one like that, get a 1.5-3gallon tank or glass container that is wider than it is deep. Make sure you use plants (fake or real) that have broad leaves to simulate their natural environment (rice patties). For food, they have Betta pellets that should be fed daily (1-3 pellets, twice a day) and they also have dried worms specifically for Betas that can be used as a treat. You will also want to use a water conditioner (they have them specifically for Betas), to ensure your fishes health- hard water or water with lots of added chemicals (aka tap water) can be too harsh for Betas. Even if you decide to use bottled water (you can get a couple gallons at the store for cheap), you'll still want to add the conditioner.

Well, good luck, and happy fishing! If you have any questions, feel free to message me. ^_^

  11. i would definatly say a beta the only bad thing about those is you can only have one but they are very low maitnance and they live a long time. other wise maybe a molly or a guppy

  12. Get you and agel fish.  They are peaceful and pretty to look at.  A Beta is nice - they are pretty, but you can only have one.  Chiclids are again nice fish and they come in pretty colors, but they're really aggressive.  So you can only have the same kind togethre, but the angel fish - you can do more of the same kind, or add mollys with it, or even guppies later on.
