  1. The correct answer is...black bean paste and kim chee.

  2. Grilled Portabella mushroom with arugula and pesto

    Potato Foccaccia

    Sundried tomato and grilled tofu

  3. Isn't it interesting that an omnivore never asks, "What is a good omnivore alternative to a tofu and alfalfa sprout sandwich?"

  4. bacon bits (made from soy no meat) and vegan cheese!

  5. Light life bologna and horizon or cabot cheddar cheese.

  6. One of my favorite sandwiches is a sliced tomato sandwich.

I've also heard that cucumber make a good sandwich, too.

It would probably work better to keep the ingredients seperate until you are ready to eat it.

  7. Tofurkey deli slices.

  8. Light Life has a variety of different lunch "meats".  I have tried the turkey, bologna and Canadian bacon.

If I were you, I would try try all of them...but the Canadian bacon in particular.  You can get a nice crusty bakery roll, fresh vegetables, soy or regular cheese, and put them together with the "meat".  Nayonaise is a nice touch, but you could use any condiment that you want.

  9. I'm a big fan of veggie sandwiches....tomato, cucumber, lettuce etc with italian dressing.  Tomato and hummus is AWESOME too.  Falafel on pita with hummus is really good too.  Or maybe grilled cheese?  I'm honestly not a fan of vegetarian "meat" so I never keep it around.

  10. Go to "Soul Vegetarian" and get the Veggie Ham from there.  Or search around for other veggie hams.  There are plenty of them out there.

For non-dairy cheese, look for Tofu based cheeses.

For non-dairy bread, you can find items called "Egg Substitutes" or "Sub Eggs" etc. and make breads, especially cornbreads, that are totally dairy free.

Just remember your body needs some dairy products unless you are lactose intolerant - milk and cheese are the best sources of that - otherwise you need to be under the strict care of a dietician that prescribe the right medication for what your body will be deficient in.

  11. a steak and cheese sandwich.

  12. Look near the vegetable section in your food store they should have a section of organic juices as well as vegetarian stuff as well , seperate from frozen foods.

  13. I have been a vegitarian for 2 years and now am vegan and i love love love!!! butter and bread pickels with chese mustard and mayo!!! and the other thing is that has no cal. at all is onions and mustard sandwitches!!! i love them and if you want it to be all soy with nothing that comes from animals just use eggless, milkless bread some veganaise (soy mayo) and veggie slices (soy cheese) tastes exactly the same!!!

  14. There is no alternative to a good ham and cheese sandwich.

  15. I'm not a vegan but i like trying different things and i found tofu jerky on beefjerkyrecipes.com's website and they even have more than one and not just tofu! it was actually pretty neat and nice that i didn't have to hunt all over the internet for it!

  16. Sliced bread of your choice, vegan ham (such as LightLife or Tofurky or Yves ham deli slices), with vegan cheese (such as Vegan Gourmet, or Teese) or sauce:

    1 cup flour

    1 cup nutritional yeast

    1 teaspoon garlic powder

    1 teaspoon turmeric powder

    1 teaspoon paprika

    5 cups water

    2 teaspoon yellow mustard

8 tablespoons or less of vegan margarine

    Directions:

Mix first 5 ingredients (flour, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, garlic powder, paprika) together in sauce pan with water and mix thoroughly. Heat on med until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat and add mustard and margarine.

Or make your own veg ham:

225 g / 1/2 lb dried bean milk sheets (aka tofu skins)

    200 ml / 3/4 cup water

    4 T soy sauce

1 T cider vinegar or wine vinegar

    1 t raw cane sugar

    1 T sesame oil

Break the sheets into small pieces.

Combine the water, soy sauce, vinegar and sugar in a large saucepan. Add the bean milk sheets and turn them into the sauce. Bring to the boil, then lower the heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until the sauce has been absorbed. Add the sesame oil. Turn out on to a large piece of muslin and roll up the cloth into a sausage shape. Tie it up securely with lots of string. Steam it over hot water for 2 hours. Remove from the heat and leave it to cool then chill it thoroughly before unwrapping and slicing it.

    Heat and eat!
