  1. my verticle is 20inches so about average but there is a shorter girl on a team we play with a 28 in  vert

  2. id say about 25 in... im 5'6 and mine is 19 in but i am a setter.

  3. Depends on a variety of factors but an 18 to 20 inch vertical would seem to be about average. However, depending on genetics, weight and so on it is not unreasonable to see some verticals appraoch 24 to 28 inches in high school sophomore players. Do you know what your standing reach, block reach and approach reach are right now?

  4. Please......everyone above is just throwing in some #'s.

Let's get real.  Men's average is about 20" and young girls' average is around 13".  If you get 16" or above, you are considered very good and if you have around 20", you should be really happy.

Check some fitness related wesites and see for yourself.

    To the person below me,

Who asked about vertical jump of a professional athlete?

If you really have 32" vertical, you should be able to spike the ball straight down over MEN'S net and DUNK a tennis ball into 10 feet high basketball rim.  I've never seen a girl 5'11"  jump so high.  See if you can do that and then measure your vertical properly.  32cm(=13") sounds more realistic.

Below are some all time high vertical jump records for University of Nebraska:(women's NCAA volleyball champion in 2006)

    Volleyball: Laura Pilakowski  29"   8/9/02

    Basketball: Tanya Upthegrove  26.5" 10/13/94

    Track & Field: Angee Henry  29.5"  1996

Note that above people are exceptional jumpers in college and school record holders so the average is far below.

I'm not saying women can never jump very high like over 30" but we should be more realistic with the numbers.
