What is a good water pokemon to have on emerald?

Question

i am currently up to lilycove city and i only have a crobat and sceptile, so i am looking for a water pokemon to mix it up a bit

and i dont want gyarados, wailmer or marill

also some recommdentaions for a fire or electric pokemon.

they r the best

well lanturn with ability volt absorb can easily fight electric pokemon cause he wont get damaged by any electric attack instead he will gain some power and u can teach him

hydro pump or surf

thunderbolt

thunder

ice beam

and he can easily beat fire type pokemon

u can get laturn by evolving chinchou

u can get chinchou at underwater areas route 124 and 126

he evolves at level 27

Chinchou is water/electric and learns good moves.  You can dive for it once you beat the twins in mossdeep city.  Balziken is an excellent fire/fighting type and really good for beating the pokemon league.  You can get a torchic egg through trading.

Ludicolo is a excellent pokemon for water. I have one, and kept it as lotad until it learnt rain dance, then taught it surf. It's type combo also means it only has a couple of weaknesses.

For fire, torkoal is good, but there isn't a very diverse choice. The other main ones are slugma or numel. However the last 2 both have a 4x weakness to water, so Torkoal is probably the best choice.

Electrike, again, not much choice, but I'd recommend Raichu or Manectrike. Raichu is porbably best, cause in Emerald, Manectrike's movepool is really small.
