my school started today, and when i met my teachers, they were very nice, and intersesting. But for ome reason i just couldn't talk, like my tongue was clued to my mouth. Every time they said something or asked ot and i had something to add or ask, i couldn't and i was EXTREAMLY quiet and i noticed a lot of my teachers realised that, and that is considered sort of not the best way to be in my school, so i need a way to stop being so shy, and speak when needed....so please help me un glue my tongue.

  1. i went through the same exact thing.  well now that im older, i kind of think like "who cares''. their only teachers. they most likly dont make that much money and ull probably end up being more succesful than them so theres no reason to feel shy around them. i guess just dont feel like your lower than them cuz u will be in a better position than they are.

but i guess u can just participate when its sumthing interesting or you know your right about something.

  2. Well one way might be to make a friend in the class that is near you so you can talk and just start being a little social (don't talk too much! you don't to get in trouble lol) As soon as you start being just a bit more social you can start with simple things like going up to the bored and answering something that requires no talking if you do that in one of your classes and slowly build your way up to things like answering something that requires very little talking and so on. You will see that after a while you will develop a natural way of talking and getting your participation credit.

  3. it's hard sometimes. just remember that they aren't judging you.. they are there so they can teach you and help you to do the best you can. and if it's because of the other students that's making you shy.. then ignore them. they probably think nothing of it. you're probably just thinking too much. just let things flow and try to be comfortable rather than thinking about everything wondering if  it's the right move (do what you want to do) and you'll probably get over this.

  4. Let school settle in and time take over. When you get to know them, you won't be so shy. These teachers are no different than you past teachers. Try to talk and when you do it, you will feel "un-glued". All it is is just back to school nerves. You'll be okay.

    Hope this helps.

  5. Start off by saying little things first. Like hello when you walk in and bye when you leave. You will slowly start to say more and eventually be able to hold a conversation. Also, ask questions that you already know the answer to. This will give you a chance to start a conversation and show them that you are interested in talking and that youre not one of the quiet types. Ive had the feeling of your tongue being glued and its not a good feeling, you just have to ease your way into talking though. Eventually you wont be afraid to talk anymore and you will realize how important you are in a conversation. And remember, you have a voice, Use it, thats what its there for. Never be afraid to speak up.
