  1. follow up with a message or call in two or three days

  2. Well, you really should send a hard copy anyway with a cover letter.  Then, a follow up phone call several days later.

  3. Sirs, I sent my resume as application for x*x position on July XX.  If you did not receive it via email please let me know and I will mail a copy today, thank you.

  4. I get lots of resumes emailed to me, and it kind of bothers me when people send me another one a few days later, "Did you get my resume?" You should attach a note when you send your resume that says something like, "If it's not too much trouble could you please let me know when you receive this." That way it doesn't look like you're waiting by the phone for them to call, it looks more like you're making sure they got it. Good luck job hunting!

P.S. The days of follow up phone calls are over. Everyone is so busy at work nowadays and it's really time consuming to take calls from people asking if they've started interviewing yet or if they're done hiring. Imagine if everyone who applied also called? We'd be taking calls all day. They only put their email for that very reason.

  5. In your e-mail options click read reciept.  That way once the e-mail is read you will get an e-mail back letting you know.  You might have to do this in Microsoft Word if your e-mail is Word based.
