  1. A center guards the paint and prevents the other team from making easy shots. They also get rebounds.

Power forwars usually have a better mid range jump shot. They get a lot of rebounds.

  2. center-most dominat player on the floor. usually resides in the paint area, tries to get those offensive rebounds and easy dunks/lay ins.

power foward- many power fowards nowadays are versatile to the point that they shoot threes and dribble like guards [ex. dirk nowitzki] but the traditional power foward would reside on the elbows, can shoot those 10-16 footers and rebounds agressively

  3. Center: Biggest, Strongest player on the team.  On defensive, protect the paint by blocking and changing the players shot and rebound.  On offensive, provide an easy way to score basket in the paint.

Power Forward: Similar to the center, but smaller and more athletic.  On offensive and defensive their roles are very similar to the center however, the PF have more movement on the court.

  4. In the Euro leagues they call them 3 point shooters

  5. Center- Protects the rim, Blocks, Rebounds, Scores in the Paint

PF- Versatile, has a good mid range jumper, sometimes a good defender
