What is a good way to get more volume in my hair?

I've tried a few things but I wanna hear what has helped for you. I have straight and medium length hair. What could I use to bring more volume and poofiness (not frizzines) to my hair?

wash and condition, than blow dry with a brush, than use garnier fructis weightless anti frizz serum.

blow dry your hair upside down.

tease the roots a little bit, use hairspray to hold it.

straighten the top layers/sections upwards not downwards.
