  1. Imagine everybody in the audience wearing only their underwear. With luck you'll laugh or at least smile, and then you're not focusing on how YOU could be embarassed! :)

  2. The only way is to expose herself to the experience as much as possible, do every role, take every opportunity to perform and find the pleasure in it.

Otherwise, she can usher for shows starring the folks who don't freak out about it.

  3. The first time I was on stage I was 8...and I remember this much...I didn't even look "out there" until I was done....so to me it was just me and the music and the dance that I was doing...by the time I was a little older...it was the most comfortable place I was...now put me in a room of only ten people?  And that's too intimate for me and then I do get nervous...go figure!

  4. I used to have that problem too. I forget what I did exactly, but I can give you some tips.

Before you go out on stage, do some deep breathing, and just keep looking at the stage from the side.

When you're out there doing what you do, when you first start off, try either having your eyes closed, or look just above the audience. (Not at them, above the highest seats.)

Your friend should not be worried, they should be proud to do what they're doing. When you get it done with, it won't seem like that much of a deal that it did backstage.

  5. everyone gave really good advice what i do is if I'm dancing or acting or just speaking i like completely submerge myself into it. i become only concerned with what I'm supposed to be doing and who I'm supposed to be. that way your not focusing so much on other people but solely on what your or your friend lol is doing if that makes sense. deep breathing before and while your on stage helps to.

    =)
