I know a lot is involved in becoming certified, including buying/renting equipment. Any suggestions?

  1. take lessons

  2. You should look for a local dive shop that offers certification and ask them what the fees are.  They will provide you with the cost of the course and materials required.  For you dive training, You usually need at a minimum, your own snorkel and mask.  You can usually rent the rest.  If you are serious about getting into it, ask them if they offer any discounts on additional products if you get certified through them.  It's a blast, take the course.

  3. Put you on a deserted island with no food and with only your diving gear and spear.Oh yeh, with matches and a piece of tin

  4. git informed your intrest alone is a start diving is a dangerous sport if i ever started diving i think i would pick up all the recycleables cause my buddie said they did a dive in the detroit river and the recyclables were as far as there eye could see and they were discousted sounds to me like they need barges and bins large bins not bins for the landfill

  5. take lessons! my son just did and is having a blast.... or do it the way my husband did and be a SEAL for six years...note:husband says just take the course..lol

  6. Hit up your local dive shop for lessons and subscribe to Scuba Diving Magazine. Everything they don't cover in class, is covered in that magazine. Good stuff!
