I can run pretty well (2:10 800, 4:58 1600, 11:20 3200) but my running form sucks. My elbows stick out a lot, and my fists are tight. Is there any way to fix this?

  1. be conscious of this when you are running and try to fix it

it will only improve through training with the correct form

i do have to say that everyone's form is different

do what works best for you

  2. Sprints!!!!!!!!!

  3. Two things to try.  Holding your hands in a fist is not good.  Try to relax your hands.  A good thing to do while running is to gently touch your index finger and thumb together as you run.  You can't make a fist that way and your hands and forearms will be more relaxed.  Also, drop your hands to about waist level and you arms will be more relaxed and hang more naturally.  Of course, when you get to your finishing kick you have to be more aggressive and pump your arms like a sprinter.  I ran a 1:49 half mile in college so I know this works.

  4. hold your hands in a loose fist.

  5. you could try to take a drink of water
