  1. my coach used to tell me to run stairs at home... do my approaches down the hallways of my house and pass to myself.

    a good one for setting::

    lay on the floor and set to urself above ur head...keep setting to urself as u sit up...keep setting to urself as you stand up..then keep setting as you sit down and lay down. keep doing that till you get tired of it pretty much.

    its challanging, so its a fun way to practice.

  2. bumping and setting to yourself is really effective as long as you're doing it with the right technique.  It can teach you control and enforce the technique you're using (so make sure it's right).  Also, practice your approaches and block jumps that way you don't loose any inches off your vertical.

  3. Play club.

  4. well i know this is going to sound a little crazy but i have a volleyball net in my backyard that i keep up year round becuase i play for my school and a club!!! so i usually go out there and practice on it and YES even in the winter! lol but i also bumb to myself like in my room up against my wall or just to myself in the air!!!! you could also maybe ask your athletic director at your school and see if you and maybe a friend could ccome in one day after school and practice there and maybe get out the net!!!! we've done it before!!! hope this helped although tehy were kind of crazy answers sorry but there's just not much you can do to practice during the off season!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!! :))))))

  5. ********* EXCERCISE WISE JUMP ROPE IS THE BEST FOR YOU AND NO MATTER WAT PEOPLE SAY RUNNING IS VERY BAD FOR YOU IT RUINS YOUR KNEES AND ANKLES...WHICH WE NEED

    TO STAY ON YOUR GAME GO TO THE GYM AND CHILL WITH GIRLS ON YOUR SKEWL TEAM THAT WAY YOU GUYS GET TO PRAC TOGETHER AND YOU WILL BE GELLIN WHEN THE SKEWL TEAM CUMS BACK AROUND

  6. When I started volleyball, all I did was pass and set to myself. Literally hours at a time. If you put a mark on your wall and set that point consistently it strengthens your arms and gets better accuracy. Also, if you don't play club, use the winter to really train your legs and lift weights to be able to have a good digging stance and high jump to block. Wall sits are good too.

  7. club

    weights

  8. The absolute best thing you can do is play for a junior olympic volleyball club in your area. It keeps you ready through the winter and it gives you and advantage when you go back to your school season. Most tryouts are over but if you look around you might be able to find a club that will take you. If you can't afford it, see if your coach will start open gyms where you and your school teammates can play each other. The key is practice and touching a ball. Passing and setting to yourself, along with the proper technique will help you with ball control, as well as promotes your confidence in handeling the ball.

  9. you could join a volleyball cliniq where you just practice

  10. try working on ball control by passing to urself...like u said...and it also improves technique...i also would do some core training just to make sure you're in shape....and maybe some push ups or sit ups would help....i live in hawaii so that isnt a problem for me! :P lol...good luck :D

  11. Why don't you find an indoor league or an open-gym type of place, and PLAY volleyball?

  12. Purchase a cheap practice volleyball, and read what I posted in the other question/answer, like yours.

    I'll add - that you can only practice setting and spiking by yourself - and it's only the spiking you can do properly. You really need to work out with someone into volleyball too - the more the merrier. It helps to have a net - but without a net is fine - because it is really ball handling that is important. As long as you are digging, setting and spiking with each other -you are doing well. I do regard that using a soft volleyball helps (as it keeps injuries down). Have the air pressure such that you can press your thumbs into the volleyball about 1/8th of an inch. You can do all kinds of saves with a soft volleyball - because your fingers won't get injured, and it does make the game/practice more fun too.

    If you get together with other volleyball players for some practice - the more the merrier. If you take the volleyball with you - so that when you have spare time with nothing else to do - you can find a wall somewhere for some practice. If you practice in public view - you may find people approaching you, wanting to join in? If you can find an open gym somewhere - you could set up a regular time and place for some volleyball practice?
