What is a good way to relieve stress?

I'm 15 and a college student who is under a ton of stress w/ homework, drama, and family issues. What can I do to relieve all this stress in a healthy way before I go insane!!!

  1. Have some 'me' time, involving things that you enjoy doing., like watching your favourite film with some comfort food like ice cream, & getting plenty of rest.  

    First make a list of everything you need to do in an order of priority, and give yourself a time scale to get it done and tick off things once they are done. I find that this helps me.

    Then make a list of things that make you happy like a target list and work towards your aims.

    For example, try to be supportive towards your family during these issues by helping here and there and flashing a smile too !

    Try not to take things to seriously and devise a plan so that you can fit everything in  including time with your family maybe. You could suggest a quiet night in infront of the TV perhaps.

    Also I find that exercise is a brilliant stress reliever and make sure you keep your energy levels up by eating properly. It can be difficult when you are under stress.


  2. You sound like you are pushing yourself too hard. You need to cut back on the work and do some exercise or something relaxing instead. You are heading for burnout otherwise.

  3. I like going outside and driving a small little tractor we have in our backyard. You can maybe go for a walk or go bike riding. Try swimming or reading or baking cakes. Good luck!

  4. Being 15 you really should not stress about family issues,leave it to the adults.Concentrate on doing well in school.

    Meditation and / or yoga is very good to destress.

    Play music you enjoy to lift your spirits.

    Set some time for FUN,really need to unwind,go to a movie,shopping,go bowling,mini golf,give yourself some pampering like a foot spa,mini makeover.

    Get regular sleep and eat sensibly,very important to give your body the fuel it needs.Go for a walk,if you have a pet,play with pet,studies have proven pet therapy to be excellent in helping stress.

  5. Before you go to sleep take deep breaths to adjust your breathing pattern.  Meditation is also good.  Tea is supposed to relieve stress.  Exercise is good.

  11. Okay, so you have stress. It's a natural part of life. You need to take at least ten minutes out of your day everyday, (or at least try to) sit down, take 4 deep breaths, and imagine the stress coming out of your feet.

    I know it sounds weird but it works.

I have lots of stress in my life also..  some things work and some dont and as funny as some of this stuff may seem, it works for me..   s*x can help, theres this river down a little bit from my house and i just go down there and think sometimes, listen to some music, drawing, walking/maybe with your dog lol.. some people like to journal?

  13. Everyone is different. What may work for some may not work for others. I've tried meditating but always seem to fall asleep. Some like to pamper themselves with a pedicure/manicure, makeover, a new wardrobe or a good massage. Enjoying a good book always helps me. Anything that makes me laugh always helps too. Like playing with my dog who is just as goofy as I am. Singing or dancing always brings chuckles b/c I can't do either. And of course there's watching a good comedy. Or there's taking a long bubble bath with scented candles while listening to something soft and mellow might do the trick.
