  1. My sister bought a dress, the wedding never took place and she sold it successfully on ebay.  Be prepared to have the lowest price in mind that you would be willing to accept.  If there is one, be sure to set a reserve price.  Be reasonable and try to start the auction at a low price to lure potential buyers.  This also helps lower your listing cost.

Take several pictures of the dress and highlight the best parts of the dress.  The pictures are better on a mannequin or on the hanger - not on a person.  Also include that the dress has not been altered, never worn, if this was the case.  Take pictures of the tags attached to the dress and note/capture the price on the dress if selling for less (which you should).  Be personable in the ad and explain why you don't want the dress (never got married, decided on a different style)  people want to make sure they aren't buying damaged goods.  Use attractive words, precise measurements (call the original bridal shop or look on the designers website), and exact names of fabrics, style, bodice design.

Some bridal shops may also buy it back from you, the bridal shop we dealt with didn't but took all of the photos for us on a mannequin in the store.  No one likes a failed wedding especially a bridal shop that knows you'll be buying another dress sometime and possibly from them.  Use that to your advantage, even if it's not entirely true.  :)

    Good luck!

  2. Sometimes they sell faster in the small community papers that the larger local paper.

Brand New Wedding Gown Never Worn. (Describe some details of the dress) long/short, beading?, Lace?, Satin.ect.

Size ?. Paid $ ? only asking $ ? Must see to appreciate. Appt. only. (Your name and number) or if you prefer, just your email address. Internet is also good because you can show a nice picture of it.

Has she tried selling it at a local consignment store? Put on bulletin boards where available.,  Make up nice flyer and leave in places like where you get massages, facial, nails and hair done. Have a "showing" like a garage, where people can come and look. Use all avenues available to you. It is not very expensive. The Trader is good. You don't sell. you don't pay.

  3. Something like:

    Wedding dress, never worn- $Price.

Describe dress-size, fabric, lace? long sleeve?

Is the ad going in the paper? Is it going on line? If so-on line, take a photo and include it in the ad.

Be careful about listing phone numbers and addresses.  Lots of creepy people out there.
