I do photography on the side. Mainly of my own kids and some nature and pet photography. I have never been paid to do it, but I enjoy it. I have taken classes and I am pretty good at it. Does anyone know anything about selling stock photographs. What websites are good, and what price per picture is reasonable? Any imput would be great thanks!

  1. I represent stock photographers and artists at http://www.imageenvision.com/ but I do require at minimum of 500 images. The best way to start is to build a collection on flickr where a lot of photo procurement managers look for talent. Also, if you are taking pictures of people and pets, consider researching model releases:

  2. DevianArt is a pretty good place to start. You can put your pictures up and sell prints.

  3. Fotolia !

    http://us.fotolia.com/

    1$ small

    2$ medium

    3$ large

I know of another one, but i can't remember...  I wll try to find it and post that one!

  4. Smugsmug.com

    Imagekind.com

    iStockphoto.com

    Shutterstock.com

    Alamy.com

As for prices, I would look at other peoples posts that are similar to yours and base according to those. You don't want to under sell because it makes you look small-time and also makes other pro's look bad, and you don't want to over-charge because even with stock images, people bargain shop.
