Question:

What is a good way to stay at a healthy weight in college, when you're too busy to really exercise?

I gained so much weight in the past 6 months. I've heard if the Freshman 15 but it's getting really ridiculous. Every day I walk for about 15 minutes to get to class from my home, but that's about all the exercise I do. Can anyone recommend any good techniques or tips on what to eat, so that I can lose some weight? I don't drink by the way, so it's not from partying too much. I'm a library nerd, really.

  1. if food is a problem buy some meal replacements like lean body. start with half a sachet. they give u complete nutrition in low cal form. otherwise start your meal with a big salad or soup. this fills you up. if there is a tramp around, nothing like it. it just takes 15 minutes of bouncing or 5 min of sprinting to get a wrokout worth 30 minutes on a treadmill.

  2. Eating at college may seem intimidating, but healthy eating doesn't have to be difficult. Just keep these general nutrition principles in mind. This guide will help you to learn easy ways to include food & fitness into your busy schedule.

        * Eat nutritious meals and snacks: Food is the fuel needed to keep your body and brain energized.

        * Balance healthy eating with fitness: Exercise helps to relieve stress and keeps your body strong.

        * Listen to your body: Recognize when you are hungry and full

  3. Probably cut down on carbohydrates intake too...

  4. There's no substitute for 30 minutes of cardio a day I'm afraid.  But it's easier than you think.  I jog at night at the gym or around my neighborhood.  If it is important to you then you will make time for it, that's just the way it is!  It's hard to get started, but really you just have to decide to do it.  When you first start out you have to stay motivated, so set small attainable goals for yourself and reward yourself as you reach each goal.  Say, walk for 30 minutes M - F, then do something nice for yourself.  Then when you lose your first 3 pounds, reward yourself with a new book or something, lol.  As long as you stay motivated and see results it will become a source of pleasure and one day you will wonder how you ever went without exercise in the first place!  Good luck!

  5. It's all a/b what and how much you eat. Cut out all fast food... i know it's probably hard to eat healthy b/c I'm guessing you live in the dorms. Eat at the same time everyday, and count the number of calories you're eating. Never exceed 2000 cal a day, and if you want to lose weight, cut back to 1500-1800 cal a day. Skip sodas, drink water instead. DON'T EAT OUT OF THE VENDING MACHINES! College is stressful so many students turn to food to give the comfort. Be aware of this... losing weight is 85% what you eat and 15% exercise.

  6. too busy to exercise now means that in some years will be too busy visiting the doctor

    never sacrifice your health

  7. You know that there is no problem with overweight in Russia and in the other republics which were in the USSR because people there don't eat fast food or drink Cola. Eat food that you made by yourself and you will be the slimest girl in America.

  8. Cut down on the junk food l
