What is a good web site to go on to make friends?

I want to chat to people but find the web sites i go on is full of weirdos,i want clean normal chat, any ideas would be great..... thanks in advance.

facebook has some chat applications you can add to your page and chat to loads and loads of people.

or google in "chat to people online in UK/US"  and look for the site that suits you

Probably none, you will always come across a stalker or imposter. So even if you think you know them - stay careful. Problem is - you want to make friends and people are offering you a place where you have to add your current friends unless you go round adding everybody's facebook/myspace that you see. Sorry - probably none are safe these days.

All of the "social" sites are filled with kooks and weirdo's.  Stay safe and enjoy life by meeting real people in real situations.  Students should meet friends at school and church etc..  Adults meet at work, church, bars (if character isn't a plus) etc..  Try library's, museums, movies too.  Have friends introduce you to their friends.  There are lots of ways to enhance your life with real and genuine friends, but the Internet is the last resort.
