its really easy to use, although u have 2 pay something like 9 pounds for use of everything on it, but definitly worth it.

I have got mine back to the 1300's.

  3. Fyunny u should ask becuasa i WAS JUST talking TOO my grandma!!!!!!1 I SWEARING THOUGH OLD PEOPLE KEEP this nation Up!!!1

  4. There are lots of websites. Some have records. Some have family trees. Some have mailing list and message boards.

Ancestry.Com has all of it.  I believe it is the best for the records they have online.  They have all the U.S. censuses through 1930.  The 1940 and later are not available to the public yet.  They also have U.K. censuses. They have immigration and military records and indexes to vital records of many states. If you find it too pricey, your public library might have a subscription to it you can use.

Just don't take as absolute fact everything you see in family trees on their website or ANY website, free or not free.  The trees are submitted by the subscribers, folks like you and me and there are errors.  You might see different info on the same people from different subscribers. Then you will see the same info from different subscribers on the same people but that is no guarantee at all it is correct.  A lot of people copy without verifying.  The information should only be used as CLUES as to where to get the documentation. Anybody that has told you they found their family tree on a website, please tell them unless they have verified the information with documents, they don't know what they have is correct or not.

Cyndi'sList.com is a website that lists tons of websites useful for genealogy.

However, don't expect to find it all online.  Also you won't find info on living people in any of the trees as that is considered a violation of privacy and can lead to identity theft.

    Good Luck!

  5. familytree.com

  6. I don't know, but if you want to help others find their ancestors, you can help by filling out census records etc. for free at http://www.familysearchindexing.org

  7. Here is a narrated Web Guide that reviews all of the leading genealogy sites in detail.

    http://www.findingdulcinea.com/guides/Fa...

  8. ancestry.com it starts out free but if you want more detail then you can subscribe. i hope this helps a little.

  9. I prefer ancestry.com but you have to pay a fee.  If you want a great site that's free, try http://www.familysearch.org/.  You can also find a number of things on http://www.cyndislist.com/.  Definitely check them out.  But, when you really, really want to get into it, you'll want a site like ancestry (which I prefer) or familytree.com like the above said.

Here's another site you might find interesting

    http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi...

  10. I,m not sure but dont use ancestry.com it is Bad they just ask for every ones email
