These two hotels are on the strip and tend to have the lowest prices without being in a dangerous part of town.

Stratosphere  & Circus Circus

For the past 7 years that I've gone to vegas over 6 times, time and time again, these two hotels had good prices.  They are also considered pretty good along with the other major hotels.  They both have nice rooms and entertainment.   Circus Circus may seem like it is for kids, but it is very simliar to the other hotels, there are shows, and nice restaurants and buffets.   No more kids stay there than any other hotel.

As a comparison, you may want to look into Imperial Palace as well.

It doesn't matter which website you check, these hotels are pretty consistent. . . yahoo.com, expedia.com, travelocity.com, cheaphotels.com

Expedia has some good hotel deals at the moment. For shows try broadway box.com or wait until you get there and get a deal

This site has the lowest published rates directly from the hotel.  So when you click on a good deal, it links you to the hotel website to book through them.

There are show discounts on this site as well.  I signed up for Cirque du soleil's email offers and I receive great deals from them through my email.

Harrah's site has a quick comparison of the room rates at their seven casino/hotels for 2 weeks; 1 month; 2 months from any given start date. Their 8th small hotel (Bill's Gambling Hall) must be checked seperately.

- If you are facing high weekend rates consider staying at Terrible's Casino (near the Hard Rock). Terrible's is not a full service casino hotel (minimal table games and dining options), and is about a mile from the strip, but it is very affordable.
