Your city may have kijiji or craigslist sites.  Definitely a popular place to put a price query.  Also has lots of people advertising their services.

Several cities have a company called Angie's List. It is a website where you join for a yearly fee and they list all kinds of home repair, auto repair, landscaping etc. companies. The co.s are rated for price, reliability, and quality of work done. The ratings are based on consumer reports to the website and it is a wonderful resource. Many of the reports say what the customer paid for a job similar to yours and what year the report was submitted.
