What is a good workout plan for rugby?

i am 17, 6 ft 2" and 200lb. i want to know what is a good workout plan for a second row in rugby and if i should play this position. oh and this is high school rugby.

  2. keep running,,,,cardio is most important,,,,,use skipping patterns when you run and run backwards too

  3. Amsterdam has very good rugby teams so go there

  4. Well..... Rugby has two things: 1) Running and 2) beating the c**p out of people so...................  Run around town and beat the c**p out of people, best way is to get a list of people that have done you wrong in the past and run to their houses and beat the c**p out of them, that way you can get your exercise and revenge :)

  5. A 2nd row is 'the engine room' of the whole team, if you want to play 2nd row your going to be running around the park doing the 'hard work' you may not even touch the ball once in a whole game.

    For this reason i would mainly focus your training on your muscular and physical fitness, go cross country running or run on a shigle beach so you work harder, also run in a 'wiggly' line, this builds up the muscles in your knees (the most prone area for injury).
