  1. Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Mérida....

    Belice City, the beaches.

Tikal, Izabal, Zacapa, Guatemala City, Antigua.

    Go back to your home.

  2. See the beaches at Cancun and maybe to the south.

Visit Belize, maybe its beaches or Maya ruins like Caracol, then head over to Tikal in Guatemala. After that, head south to the Guatemalan highlands, see maybe Coban, Antigua, Lake Atitlan, Chichicastenango, Quetzaltenango, etc. Then cross the border into Mexico, visit highland colonial town San Cristobal de las Casas and surrounding Maya Indian communities like Chamula, and maybe a boat ride on Sumidero Canyon.  Move north, visit Palenque and maybe Bonampak and Yaxchilan.  From there, back to the Yucatan peninsula- colonial cities Merida and Valladolid, nearby Maya ruins Uxmal and Chichen Itza. Complete the loop back to Cancun.

It all depends on your interests, but that is what I would do.
