I absolutely adore the Musical and movie of the Phantom of the Opera. I have found many books about the opera and stories of the love and passion that went on. I want to read a good one. Anyone find a good novel? thanks!!

  1. I would read Gaston Leroux book, the first Phantom novel where all the movies and plays are based. And secondly, Phantom by Susan Kay,a truly treasure!

  2. I love the Phantom of the Opera too!!!  When I saw the movie, I immediately read the original novel, Gaston Leroux's The Phantom of the Opera, and although it was very different from the movie and musical, I thought it was very well written and portrays some of the Phantom's emotions very well.  However, if you want to stay more true to the musical and the movie, I would recommend reading some of the fan ficiton--most of it is really good and it all really captures the love and passion that the movie and musical encompass.  Go to www.fanfiction.net if you are interested in that sort of thing.

I hope I could be of help!
