I love things like pancake breakfasts or chili lunches. People pay $5 and get 3 pancakes (or a bowl of chili or burger or whatever) as well as a drink. You can buy everything in bulk, or ask people to volunteer and donate things. We do both of these at work, and people volunteer to cook a pot of chili at home and bring it in. You also get a bun with the chili and drink for the $5. These things are real hits because it's something "different" in your day.
