  1. Try look at Leapfrog Toys that are good for child's development

    here is link http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i...

  2. Theres a really cool drum that you can get at walmart that every time the baby hits it it sings the alphabet per drum beat. i think it it made by leap frog... anything musical, but simple.... or Im assuming that he just started walking? a toy for him to walk with, or even a really cool nice pair of shoes... skate shops always have skate shoes for babys, or even if you googled it you would find a place. depending what he parents are into. if they are into skate shoes... DC or Etnies or Adio... outdoorsy Patagonia, you get the idea!

  3. 1. Radio Flyer Pathfinder Wagon (This wagon has won the National Parenting Center's Seal of Approval and more award)

, Radio Flyer Classic Walker Wagon (This award-winning classic push wagon has long been a cherished toy for toddlers) or Hasbro Playskool Step Start Walk 'n Ride

    2. Learn & Groove Musical Table from LeapFrog or Little Superstar Sing-Along Stage from Fisher Price

  4. I agree....babies aren't very fussy about toys. I'd take the $100 and split it up this way....$12.50 for a colorful toy or two (rattle, something noisy), $12.50 for a couple story books, $50 savings bond, and $25 for materials for this project....

Really, anyone can sew, SO, don't get discouraged by this....

I did it (bloody fingers and ALL!)

Get some furry material (WalMart) and fold it over. It doesn't have to be perfect, but cut out the shape of a bear. Sew it up, stuffing each part just before you are finished. SEW IT TIGHT AND STRONG. Take some colorful pieces of felt and cut them out in the shape of facial features and paws. Sew them on TIGHT (buy some buttons to sew on after he is 3). Use your imagination and it will be cute. Again, it doesn't have to be perfect. He will likely carry that bear all over the house with him and sleep with it....he'll pee on it, he'll puke on it, etc...so it will go through the wash many times.

I made one for a friend's little boy when he was born, and he still has it 13 yrs later! I got a little T Shirt for it from the 2nd hand store and ironed on the letters to spell "Boo Boo Bear". It was my hope that it would be his security bear. It lasted well, but can always be fixed up as needed.

  5. a small electric guitar

  6. to be totally honest one year olds don't really appreciate toys.  at one year old they are just really growing into the toys.  you could do something like a contribution to a university savings account (i always like this because it actually matters and isn't going to end up in a landfill)  or books are good.  i recommend: the babies crawled away, if i were a lion, the bear snores on.  all good books, parents will enjoy too.
