What is a great home carpet steam cleaner?

I have a bissell cleaner that never worked right from the day I bought it (I should have returned it). I'm looking to buy a new one, so if you have one you LOVE please let me know! Thanks!

I have the Bissel Pro Heat one and I really don't like it.

I had the Hoover one before that, and it was much better than the Bissel.

Too bad the water tank started to leak after a few years of using it, and I couldn't replace the tank.

The Bissel Spot Bot works great though, I must admit, but the Pro Heat stinks.

The household vacs are only good for small soiled areas needing to be cleaned "between" your professional cleanings which are recommended once or twice a year depending on your traffic.

I have been cleaning carpets for over 15 years. The best household carpet cleaning vac is a.....ready for this? A good-old SHOP VAC.

Get a gallon of carpet cleaning solution from home depot. Mix it with water in a mop bucket (1 cup of cleaner with 1 gallon of water). Get a stiff bristle brush and brush the solution into the soiled areas (don't be afraid to wet the carpet). Final step, extract the solution from the area just cleaned with the shop vac ( use the wide thin attachment). Let it dry for a few hours,  you are done.
