I think that the BEST modern song is I'll stand by you by Carrie Underwood, the thing is that you can't get it anywhere now because she did it for idol gives back a few years ago, and it was only on iTunes for like a week or something. But if you have a friend or something that bought it in that time, its totally the best song to do modern to!
