  1. The others are right in that it is a horse with little training etc.

However, I just had to post this - http://www.mchspepsquad.com/images/flyin...

  2. A horse or pony that is not yet broke and safe to ride.

  3. A green horse is an inexperienced USUALLY young horse or pony. They don't have to be young but they usually are. A green horse has not been shown in the regular divisions for which they qualify (small, medium, large pony divisions or Regular Working Hunter) which they enter at A, AA, or AAA rated shows to qualify for Pony Finals (for ponies) or Medal Finals (for horses). So a green horse or pony has not yet broken his green year.

  4. a green horse or pony  is a horse that has very little training and and has never shown before

  5. A green horse is one that is just out of training. It is trained just not yet safe to ride without someone being there, or cannot be truseted as much as a horse that has been trained for several years

  6. a green horse  or pony is a horse or pony that has not been broke all the way.

  7. I answered this question b4 and got the top answer-

inexperienced rider/horse, uneducated rider/horse, new at the certain style of riding, coming back into work from a long spell, young horse/rider

in some cases it means the horse has been broken into saddle/mouth(bit) but has had no further education in regards to riding

green not only refers to riding but in general domestication eg: rugging, grooming (picking out feet), leading etc

a green ribbon in the horses tail can indicate to others that the horse is green just like red indicates danger for kicking etc.

you will often here it being refered to in horse sales

id say the term “green” comes from when a horse has been grazing on rich green grass and is “fresh” as well as anything really green (nature wise) eg: plant is new like a green horse is pretty much new.

    hope this explains it!

  8. A green horse refers to an animal with little training. It is usually a young animal that is just being started & requires an experienced rider along with a good trainer.

  9. green is a term used to explain the level of training in a young horse. A green horse usually is one that has the "basics" w/t/c with a rider. a green horses usually has never been anywhere and isnt used to trailering to shows and grounds. They are in the very beginning of their training stages, most to all green horses need a very experienced rider that trains and is used to riding a horse that doesnt really know what they are doing under saddle.

  10. A green horse or pony is one that is not yet trained all the way. Have you ever heard of green broke? that just means that you can get on them but they don't exactly know much yet.

  11. A green horse means that that horse doesent know to much about you and trainning. all you could do is to say "hi" and start slow

  13. refers to a horse or pony that hasn't been worked with much or hasn't been ridden or is not broke to ride.

  15. A Green horse or animal reffers to a horse that hasnt done very much when it comes to humans or level of training, they wouldn't yet be reliable, and work would have to be put in to the horse before the horse would be reliable, you should always be thicking steps ahead on a green horse or pony, and eliminate anything that could cause the pony to spook to make him feel safe in his environment

  16. Green refers to a horse with little practical experience.  A horse with 30 days professional training will be considered green until he has enough miles under him that he can be considered a trustworthy mount.   He can be ridden and has had basic training he just doesn't have a lot of experience.

Same can be said of people.  If a rider has been taught HOW to ride but doesn't have a lot of experience he is considered a green rider.

  17. A green horse is a white horse that has gotten grass stains on him till he obtains the appearance of being green....Pscyh. A green horse is a horse that while rideable it doesn't have any experience so may spook at things on the trail or in the ring that a seasoned horse wont even look twice at.
