Okay so I had a cd player hooked up in my car my dad took it out he said something about it having a defect. So I had a professional re-install my cd player. Okay I get it back home and it will not play my cd's. The fm and am radio plays fine but every time I put in a cd it ejects it and says NO CD. I guess its not reading it or something, but these are brand new cds not bootlegged or burned. So the next day I think Im going to take my car back and complain about the installation, but my car won't start. So about 2 weeks later my dad does something and its starting again, but the stereo company will not try to fix or even look at my cd player. One of my friends says that my ground wire is burned. So Im trying to figure out does that have anything to do with it spitting out the cds, Can I get another ground wire? What exactly does the ground wire do? Has anyone ever heard of cd players having defects? Can the cd player be fixed, just help me understand what to do.

  1. A connection to ground is done for safety purposes to protect people from the effects of faulty insulation on electrically powered equipment. A connection to ground helps limit the voltage built up between power circuits and the earth, protecting circuit insulation from damage due to excessive voltage. Connections to ground may be used to limit the build-up of static electricity when handling flammable products or when repairing electronic devices.

    its the CD player

  2. the ground wire is a wire that is connected to any metallic part of your car usually within the trunk or under the hood

yeah u might need to fix or change that stereo

  3. This should have nothing to do with the CD playing the ground would affect your Fm/Am reception if not properly grounded and wouldnt even power on if it were burned the NO CD problem would stem from a Hard Jar of the head unit causing the laser to become misaligned or maybe as simple as  a dirty lens which can be solved by geting a cd lens cleaner i have installed 1 or 2 defected head units also so they are possible if you have recently purchased it call the company or send in your warrenty card to getr a replacment
