  1. Yes, its a group with lots of candidates. I have conducted many group interviews. You want to stand out, however the key is NOT NECESSARILY to stand out. Most importantly, its to BE YOURSELF. If you force things or are overly aggressive, it is very noticeable. If you are natural and comfortable and make a few smart comments that is much better. Being loud and the center of attention is transparent and typically obnoxious to the employer.

  2. an interview with a group of people... just try to stand out

  3. I have had 2 interviews referred to as group ones.

One really should have been called a panel interview, because it was me being interviewed by 6 people.

The other was me and several other candidates being interviewed at the same time. This is probably what you are going to.

If it is you and the people you are competing with, you are going to have to shine, but not appear to be overly confident and obnoxious. :) We were thrown questions and we had to answer in order, the order being changed each time. We always were each given the same question, but sometimes I was first or last, depending on the order.

Truthfully, I did not like it at all.

I have heard of others where they ask questions and call on you OR they ask questions and you can choose to answer. If you have the option of answering, make sure you do raise your hand more than once, but do not raise it for every question so that you come off as a know-it-all.

You have to relax and listen to what the others are saying. Focus on each question and try to answer as best as possible.

They are looking for team-work, personality, enthusiasm, and the ability to work well with others, esp. if you have to deal with customers.

    GOOD LUCK!
