  1. A guitar scale is a series of notes that are played in a certain key. There are many different types (G major, G minor pentatonic, C major, etc.) Every instrument has scales.

    Here's a video:

  2. A guitar scale is ascending or descending series of pitches. The pitches that make up a scale are called degrees, and each is assigned a name and number. From lowest to highest, the scale degrees are called the tonic (i), supertonic (ii), mediant (lll), subdominant (iv) , dominant (v), submediant (vi), and leading tone (vii). The name of a scale consist of a series of whole steps and half steps in a specific order. The two most common Western scales are the major and the minor scale. On guitar you would for the C scale start with the base C, the note on the fifth string third fret,  and end with the C on the second string first fret. I hope that this helps, I'm sorry but I don't have any way to show you an example of this on video. Places like the Sam Ash and the Guitar Center have books on this subject and show you exactly how to understand and perform them. The C scale on guitar is C, fifth string third fret, and then open D, then E on the fourth string second fret, then the F on the fourth string third fret open G third string, then A on the third string second fret, and then the open B second string, and then last the C, second string first fret. Also youtube shows you how to perform scales, just type in this, guitar scales, Good luck !
