  1. A gutshot straight draw, also known as a belly-buster straight draw or an inside straight draw, is any draw to a straight where you need one particular card. For instance, in Hold'em, if you have 67 in your hand and the board is 34T, you have a gutshot straight draw to a 7-high straight. You need a 5 and only a 5.

The other type of straight draw is an open-ended straight draw. That's when you have 67, for example, and the board is 45T. Now a 3 or an 8 will give you a straight.

Sometimes, you'll hear of a double belly-buster or double gutshot straight draw. That's when you have two gutshot draws. For example, you have 67 and the board is 358. You don't have 4 cards in a row (i.e., it isn't an open-ended straight draw), but a 4 will give you a 7-high straight and a 7 will give you an 8-high straight. Out of all of the straight draws, its probably the best, since you still have two different cards you can hit and it can be very hidden when you catch your hand.

  2. It's the same thing as holding an inside straight draw.

Example: You're holding a 7, 9, 10, J. You MUST draw an 8 to have the straight. That's called an inside straight or a gut shot straight draw.
