  1. if you have anti-freeze in the oil or if there,s white smoke coming out the tailpipe, then the gasket is blown.


  2. an pretty cheap part ($50ish) but labor is so expensive on it

  3. Head gasket issues could be:

    1-Loss of compression

    2-oil or antifreeze leaking outside the block

    3-Oil mixing with the antifreeze inside the block causing foaming in the oil.

    I could only guess the cost of repair at around $500. Could be more or less.

  4. anywhere from 500 to 800 in most cases it involves removing the head from the motor getting it machined and replacing the head gasket

    the gasket is there to keep combustion gases from getting into the coolant and to keep the coolant in the water jacket and not in the combustion chamber

    toyota has made a few engines that are famous for bad head gaskets

    but not as many as gm
