  1. This is a question best asked by your ped, however you can get an idea yourself by plotting a growth chart.  I will post a link below; you measure your childs height(lieing down at this age) and weight on a stand up scale, no cloths or shoes(however in your peds office they may use a lay down type depending on how tall she is)  You will also need to check her head circumfrence.  At the largest part of the crown(usually just above the mid point on the forehead) use a tape measure to go all the way around.  Use these numbers to plot a line on the growth chart.  You will see on the chart that there are many curves, and your child will fall onto or in between one of them.  For instance if she is on the 30th for height and weight, then thats called being in the thritieth percentile for her age group.  Sometimes you have a very tall child(in the 80th for their age group) with a low weight(25th percentile)

Please be aware that all this chart will tell you is where she stands in her age group.  It does NOT take into account any mitigating factors, such as illness, recent or ongoing, any delays, her enviroment, nutrition, and a host of other issues.  An example is this:  My twins.  My son is on the 25th for height and weight.  This is low for his age group but since he was a premie, he is where he should be.  He has not dropped on his curve, and has even gained a little since birth.  All good things, and just fine.  My daughter on the other hand plots 5th for height(she is only 33 inches tall...they are 3.5 years old) and 5th below the curve(not even on the chart) for weight(she weighs in at about 22.2 pounds)  As bad as it sounds, this is *her* normal, for her circumstances.  She has several healthproblems, granted, but has not dropped off her curve in recent months, so this measurement is a good one.  Had she dropped in percentage, the doctor would have reason to be concerned and so would I.  I hope all that made sence.

LOL really though, the best thing to do is ask your ped.  He can look at her growth chart, and know if it is a normal curve.

go down to mid page.  Find the chart that says girls for cirum., height and weight.  Pick wither the B&W or color, it does not matter.  If you have to convert pounds to kilos, find an online calculator.  Download, and print.  You want the one with the 5th and 95th(the one I just mentioned)

  2. I agree you need to ask the doctor if your 2 yearl old is on target. it depends on height and muscle structure. My daughter has always been petite, at 2 years old she was only 18-20 lbs.

  3. You need to ask your pediatrician that question.  It depends on more than age.  You need to ask what is  a healthy weight for YOUR two year old.

  4. Their height is huge factor. (of course a dozen 2 yr olds at the same height can all have different weights, completely normal)

But to give you a guesstimate.... between 25-30 pounds is probably most common for 2 year olds. Now that does not mean a 23 or 35 (or whatever weight) 2 yr old is not healthy! Just saying most common is around 25-30lbs, give or take...
