I have never taken an official IQ test. But I have seen IQ scores alot in movies and such, but never understood what the numbers mean? I am pretty smart, but dumb on this particular question. I took some internet IQ test today (which i know is not accurate) but got a score and don't know where that puts me? So if anyone could tell me the score system for IQ tests, that would be nice?

  1. IF U HAVE 2 ASK ....

  2. I/Q - means intellegent quotient. This was a method to measure the intellegence of mentally retarded children. But later it was developed to measure and compare people's intellegence.

The test is done. The mental age divided by the chronological age multiplied by 100 ( to avoid fraction) will give a value. If mental age and the chronological age is same, the value will be 100 which will then be considerd as normal.  Anything below 100 is below par and anything above is above par.

  3. 100 or above is well...really good

  4. Hey! I also took a test on the internet but I'm not really sure if it's accurate. From what I've read and studied so far, if you score between 90 - 130 you are in the group of average people. Below 90 is considered below average, and above 130 - smart :)

I think that about 20% of the population is in the group of "above average" and the majority score between 90 - 130.

  5. I noticed you didn't post your Internet IQ score!  If it was higher than say, 140-145, you're in the upper echelon of test takers!  If you IQ was say in the the 110-120 range, you're average.  If it was below 90ish, well then, good luck!  I think 165 or so will get you into MENSA! That's where all the genius' are!

  6. Supposedly 145 and up...genius supposedly is 165.
