You may want to look for something by Peter Paul and Mary.  If I Had a Hammer comes to mind, great song!  I can invision the children hammering the air, I think that one would be cute.

  This Land is Your Land is a good one.  I think they fit the definition of hippie.  You may want to look for other folk artists of the 60's and 70's.
