  1. Home Study is a first process need to be approve by County Social worker license and it cost somewhere $1,000.00 to $2,000.00

    1)  Criminal check for whoever live in the house with the child

this matter is check by FBI and  local County

    2) save, nice clean home and must have one room for each child.  The pool must gated. Danger objects that could harm a child must removed

    3) Medical record and blood test must be done

    4) No one in a family has mental illness

    5) A promise note from friend or relative that state that person will  take over the child if anything happen to the adoptive parents.

Well check Social Service where you live for what document are need.  They just want a save place for a child and you mean well for the child not to adopt them because you are sick you need a teenage to take care of you or put them work on the field.

A lot of paper work but can be done if you want the child enough

    Good luck

  2. i think it is where a social worker would come in and evaluate your home life and financial matters IE if you have enough rooms, and the means to support another child!

  3. I have been through 2 home studies.  The agencies really just want to make sure the home is safe and clean and ready for a baby.  Here are a few key things they will look for.

    1. All outlets need to have baby proofing

    2. All medicine (even aspirin etc) will need to be put in a tackle box and locked.

    3. All cleaning supplies must be kept up high and out of babies reach.

    4. You will need to have a room for the baby

    5. You need a first aid kit

    6. You need a fire extinguisher that is handy but out of the reach of the child.

    7. If you have a pool, it has to have either a fence around it or a locked pool cover.

    8. House must be clean

Other than that its pretty easy.

  4. The Home Study is the Document that tells everything about your family.

This document is used to let case workers, and adoption agencies know the details about a family.

    It includes:

    Biography's, and personal profiles

    Family history and relationships

    Extended family information

    Education and Residency

    Work and employment history

    Personal References

    Doctor reports

    Financial Information

    Criminal History and Background checks

Interviews with other children in the home

    Interviews with Parent(s)

    Training and Certifications

    Home Inspection and Safety Reports

    ....whatever else pertains....

All of this information is put together into a document which is called "The Home Study"

  5. A social worker comes to your house, looks around to make sure you have enough room and a safe environment, then sits down and chats with you.  She'll probably want to interview each family member alone, and the whole family together.  You'll be approved or declined pretty much as soon as she walks in the house, because if your application has been approved, chances are there won't be a reason to change their minds during the homestudy.  Anyway, then the social worker will take the info s/he gets and will write up the actual homestudy.  This will be submitted to each caseworker (or mother, if you're looking into infant adoption, or agency, etc.) for review, and they will decide from your homestudy if they are interested in you as a possible placement option for the child they need to place.

  6. A home study can actually be two different things, depending on the type of adoption/agency you work with.

The first one you've already received some great answers on.

A home study can also refer to the entire process - the fingerprints, background checks, clearances, references, interviews, etc. in addition to the actual visit to your home.

  7. A home study is just an evaluation of your home.  They come to your house and check it out.  Make sure it will be safe for an adopted child.

They will check your family out too.  Make sure you can take care of a kid safely.  They will also check out any other family in the area that may have contact with the child.

It seems really daunting butmit relly isn't too bad.  They may ask you too lock some things up like drugs or knives etc.  but they relly just want to know the child will be safe in your care.
