What is a hulled strawberry?

A strawberry is hulled when the tops (the green leafy part) is cut off.

It's not just the top that's cut off but the little fibrous part in the middle of the strawberry towards the top.  It helps if when you cut the top off, you angle the knife and cut down into a little point.  Then pull the little plug with stem, leaves and fibrous part out.  Voila!
